Song Joong-ki stars as Captain Yoo Si-jin, a special-forces officer of the fictional peacekeeping unit Alpha Team, opposite Song Hye-kyo as surgeon Kang Mo-yeon; their romance, complicated by his military postings and a disaster-relief deployment to the fictional country of Uruk, made the series a defining hallyu export, drawing a peak domestic audience share above 38 percent and a Grand Prize at the 52nd Baeksang Arts Awards. Timeforum's community-run "매체속의 시계들" (Watches in Media) quarterly roundup independently corroborates two distinct Breitling watches on Yoo Si-jin in its 2016 second-quarter installment, describing the identification as already well established by that point. Contemporaneous mainstream press covered the same placement at brand level: Asia Economy (2016-04-05) quotes a market price of roughly ₩7.1 million for "a Swiss brand representative of aviation watches" worn by Song Joong-ki in the drama, and Munhwa Ilbo (2016-05-10) states plainly that Song Joong-ki's Breitling from the drama made the brand newly familiar to Korean consumers.
