Mukou no Hate

Eiji Uchida directed this WOWOW original drama, written by Arata Takeda, set largely in 1985 Tokyo. It centers on Ritsuko Ikematsu (Marika Matsumoto), arrested for the arson murder of her childhood friend, novelist Kohei Kimitsuka (Kohei Matsushita), and unfolds her tangled past of marriages and relationships with men from her hometown to explain how she came to be accused. Akinaga Toyomoto plays Hisao Kyonami, a confectionery-company president who is Ritsuko's first husband and the one who first discovers Kimitsuka's body; the ensemble also includes Hayato Kakizawa, Masaki Kaji, Kiyohiko Shibukawa, and Shohei Uno.
