North Light (ノースライト) is a two-part NHK Saturday drama that aired December 12 and 19, 2020, adapting Hideo Yokoyama's bestselling architectural mystery novel. Hidetoshi Nishijima stars as Minoru Aose, a licensed architect whose career has stagnated since the bubble economy burst and whose marriage to interior coordinator Yukari (Rie Miyazawa) has ended; a client named Tota Yoshino commissions Aose to design a house Yoshino himself would want to live in, but the family vanishes without ever moving in, sending Aose to investigate why. Kazuki Kitamura plays Akihiko Okajima, the head of Aose's design firm who supports him through the search. (TMDB)
