The Cartier Santos 100 is the enlarged Santos Cartier introduced in 2004 for the centenary of the watch Louis Cartier made for Alberto Santos-Dumont in 1904, one of the first wristwatches designed as a wristwatch rather than a pocket watch on a strap. The 100 keeps the elements that made the original legible as a Cartier, a squared case with a curved octagonal bezel and eight exposed screws standing proud of it, Roman numerals, a railway minute track and a blued or sapphire-set crown, and scales them up to a case around 38 by 51 mm that reads as a 2000s watch rather than a 1900s one.
