Omega La Magique
More actions
The Omega La Magique is an ultra-rare gold dress watch built around a "mystery" display: hands that appear to float on a transparent centre disc within a rectangular gold case. Only 261 examples were made, earning it the nickname "Phantom Watch".
For years the La Magique was named as the watch Tony Montana wears in Scarface (1983), to the point of being known as "the Scarface watch." The attribution does not survive a close look at the film: the on-screen piece has a solid dark dial on a gold bracelet, where the La Magique has a transparent centre on a leather strap. The Scarface watch is now generally read as a Concord Delirium Mariner, and the La Magique's screen credit is a long-circulated myth.
