The Seiko 7549-7009 of 1978 was the world's first quartz professional saturation diver, the battery-powered successor to the 1975 6159-7010 that introduced the titanium case and shrouded "Tuna" form. Its one-piece titanium case is finished in gold titanium nitride, the source of the "Golden Tuna" nickname for the 49 mm cushion shape, under a titanium shroud that replaced the earlier model's chip-prone ceramic, and its sealed construction holds 600 m saturation depths by keeping helium out rather than venting it through an escape valve.
