Bond wears the quartz 600 m Professional Diver, the "Golden Tuna", with his dive gear during the Neptune submersible descent to the wrecked St Georges, where he and Melina retrieve the ATAC. A working saturation diver with no gadget functions, it is one of the most utilitarian watches of the Q-branch era; its shrouded case reads clearly inside the submersible, though the film never grants it a true close-up. Worn by Roger Moore as James Bond. Bond's everyday watch from the pre-title sequence onward, first clearly visible when he checks a map in the Lotus Esprit Turbo. The final scene gives it an insert close-up as a scrolling red LCD message, COME IN 007, crosses the dial; the prop was fitted with a small speaker grille above the dial and a speaker caseback so it could double as a two-way radio for the Prime Minister's congratulatory call, which Max the parrot answers before dropping the watch into the sea. After the all-digital Seikos of The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker, the Duo-Display's analog hands mark the start of Bond's turn back toward traditional watches. (Bond Lifestyle; WatchReel)
