Seiko Lord Marvel 36000 5740-8000
More actions
The Seiko Lord Marvel 36000 Ref.5740-8000 introduced Japan's first 36,000-beats-per-hour movement in 1967, doubling the 18,000 bph standard of most contemporary mechanical watches to push the running seconds hand to a smoother, more precise sweep. Its manual-wind caliber 5740C sits in a slim steel case with a silver sunburst dial reading "Lord Marvel 36000" beneath the Seiko name, produced through 1978; the dial back-print reads "5740-8020," the code for the baton-marker dial variant fitted under the 5740-8000 case reference, an Arabic-numeral dial in the same case having been catalogued as 5740-8030. Jackroad's costume-loan archive credits Toru Nakamura's Hiroshi Takahara, a bombing-case suspect appearing in Cold Case 3, with the reference. The same reference also turns up, unattributed, among an on-screen "watch collection" prop set in the unrelated 2020 drama Youkai Sharehouse, a separate Jackroad post that groups it with a TAG Heuer Link Calibre 16 and a Rolex Datejust Thunderbird rather than crediting an individual wearer.
