The Seiko UFO is the collector nickname for Seiko's 6138 automatic chronograph family, sold from 1971 through the late 1970s and marketed at the time as the "Speed-Timer" or, on some Japanese-market dials, the "Yachtman." Its lugless, saucer-shaped case, a bold departure from conventional chronograph styling, earned it the nickname among vintage-watch collectors. The line ran across several references, including 6138-0011, -0012, and -0017, all sharing the same case and the day-date-equipped 6138A movement. (Vintage Watch Inc)
