Timex vintage LCD digital covers the department-store LCD watches Timex sold from the late 1970s into the 1980s: a rectangular steel case on a self-extending stainless expansion bracelet, a black dial with red and blue accent stripes, and ALARM and CHRONOGRAPH function labels, all running on a quartz movement with lithium cell. No single reference covers the line here, because the design shipped across the 71, 79 and 95 series and the watch on Uncle Rico's wrist in Napoleon Dynamite (2004) never shows a legible caseback. Timex reissues the same case profile today as the T80. It is the right watch for a man stranded in 1982: a period piece worn straight, on a character who has not moved on. (WatchReel)
