The Grand Seiko Evolution 9 Collection Spring Drive SLGA009, nicknamed "White Birch", was announced in January 2022 as the Spring Drive counterpart to the Hi-Beat White Birch of 2021, the pair opening the Evolution 9 Collection that February. (Grand Seiko press release) Its 40 mm steel case houses the caliber 9RA2, the Spring Drive 5 Days movement, accurate to ±10 seconds a month with a 120-hour power reserve, magnetic resistant to 4,800 A/m and 10 bar water resistant, behind a white dial textured after the birch forests near the Shinshu Watch Studio in Nagano.
