The Hamilton Khaki Field is the brand's family of military-styled field watches, built on the plain, high-legibility dials Hamilton supplied to the US armed forces from the First World War onward. Hamilton created the civilian “Khaki” in 1980 by repurposing a military watch, then placed it in L.L.Bean's fall 1981 catalog after it sold out at Bloomingdale's. Modern executions span quartz, hand-wound, and automatic movements from 33 to 42 mm, and film sources name materially different members of the line. The pictured 38 mm Khaki Field Auto H70455560 is a representative current execution with a steel case, sapphire crystal, 100 m water resistance, and the 80-hour H-10 automatic caliber.
