Omega Chrono-Quartz
The Omega Chrono-Quartz of 1976 was the world's first hybrid analog-digital wristwatch: an analog time display on the right of its broad tonneau case and an LCD chronograph on the left, driven by the quartz calibre 1611. Nicknamed the "Albatross" for its size, it was launched around the Montreal Olympic Games, where Omega served as official timekeeper, and its twin-display architecture prefigured the ana-digi genre that Japanese makers would popularize in the following decade. Production was short, making it a distinctive period marker of 1970s quartz-era ambition.
