James May is an English broadcaster and journalist born in 1963, nicknamed "Captain Slow" for the deliberate driving style he cultivated against his co-presenters. He wrote for motoring magazines before presenting Top Gear from 2003 to 2015 and then The Grand Tour for Amazon, later fronting the travel documentary James May: Our Man in... across Japan, Italy, and India.
