The Fortis B-42 Marinemaster in Arma 3 has an unusually good identification source: a designer naming it. In his July 2024 retrospective, Bohemia Interactive's Karel Mořický identified the model behind the game's wearable watch. He was less certain about why it had been chosen, offering the project's earlier direction as a possible explanation. (Karel Mořický)
The other appearances below come from official collaborations or fictional watches later manufactured for fans.
A Fortis in the equipment list
Mořický describes the series' wristwatches as tools for coordinating operations and tracking timers. The player can consult a timepiece that belongs to the simulated world. Its dive-watch ancestry is almost incidental to that task; a civilian design supplies the instrument used by a virtual soldier. (Mořický's series retrospective)
Arma 3 also puts a Police Navy X on Nikos and an Alpina Extreme Tourbillon on civilians, according to the same designer. The range is stranger than a uniform selection of military-issued watches. Mořický names the models; he does not claim that their makers licensed the appearances. (Mořický on the character watches)
Hamilton becomes equipment in Far Cry 6
Far Cry 6 has a documented Hamilton partnership. Dani Rojas earns a Hamilton Khaki Field Titanium through a mission, and its in-game effect improves defense while sprinting. Swatch Group's 2021 announcement describes both the equipment function and the real watch made alongside it. (Swatch Group)
The physical counterpart is the H70645533. It shares the game's field-watch design, but the defensive bonus belongs entirely to Ubisoft's equipment system.
Joel’s fictional watch becomes merchandise
Joel's field watch in The Last of Us began in concept art, according to Neil Druckmann's recollection. The team then developed the backstory of Sarah's gift. Its importance grew from that family connection, with the broken watch remaining on Joel's wrist. (Naughty Dog's official podcast)
A physical version did follow. MSTR's licensed Joel's Watch recreated the fictional object with a quartz movement and olive nylon strap. The replica gives Joel’s familiar design working hands. (MSTR)
A watch designed across both worlds
For Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Kojima Productions explicitly identifies Neil as the wearer of the watch translated into the Hamilton Boulton Death Stranding 2. The developer's announcement links the game trailer to the physical design, whose seven sapphire windows make the relationship unusually specific. The surrounding history is developed in Kojima’s Watches: From Metal Gear to Death Stranding. (Kojima Productions)
Resident Evil Requiem takes the character assignment further. Hamilton names Grace Ashcroft for its Pan Europ H35455730 and Leon S. Kennedy for the Khaki Field Auto Chrono H71636330. Each has a documented game wearer and a corresponding retail reference. (Hamilton: Grace; Hamilton: Leon)
