In Succession’s pilot, Tom Wambsgans brings Logan Roy a Patek Philippe for his birthday while wearing a Panerai-shaped watch himself. Heritage Auctions later cataloged Tom’s wristwatch as a replica prop designed to resemble a Luminor. (Heritage Auctions, lot 5008)

The auction identifies a replica prop, without establishing that Tom knowingly wears a counterfeit in the story.

The pilot: a recognizable silhouette

The Luminor-style prop has a brown leather strap, a crown cover and two subsidiary displays, including a power-reserve indicator. Heritage’s description explains the Panerai resemblance while identifying the object as a replica.

Tom wears it while presenting Logan’s gift. The dialogue names the Patek, while the auction record identifies Tom’s wristwatch.

Season three: the Cartier phase

By season three, Tom wears a steel Cartier Santos. Its square dial, exposed bezel screws and metal bracelet replace the pilot watch’s round dial and leather strap. Montres de Luxe identifies the modern steel model without assigning an exact reference. (Montres de Luxe)
