TAG Heuer Professional 3000 Chronograph

Worn by Bruce Willis as John McClane. McClane wears his TAG Heuer 3000 quartz chronograph turned to the inside of the wrist throughout: face protected, the way people who have done real field work sometimes wear a watch. Prop Store later authenticated and sold the film watch, describing a steel chronograph with three subdials, depth markings to 50 m around its circumference and a slim grey leather strap, but published no reference; collectors split on the sub-reference, The Wrist Whisperer giving 202.236 and DC Vintage Watches 232.206. The sequel's own screen-worn watch, sold from the same prop master's collection and described by Prop Store as the same style, is engraved 232.206 on its caseback, which favours that reading without settling what the 1988 watch was. (Hodinkee) Watches of Espionage's Christmas-films Dispatch calls the watch a TAG Heuer 3000 Series Quartz Chronograph worn inside the wrist "in true tacticool fashion", reads it as a private purchase since "The NYPD isn't issuing watches", and pictures a re-creation layout built around "a Tag model 932.206" from the collector @movementsofaction, a third sub-reference reading beside the two above. It also reports a scene cut from the script in which the terrorists synchronised their own black TAGs before entering Nakatomi Plaza, McClane taking one from a dead man's wrist and later using it to expose Gruber posing as a hostage. Cartier Tank

Worn by Alan Rickman as Hans Gruber. Gruber wears a gold Cartier Tank, a deliberate costume note for a thief who styles himself a man of culture; the rectangular dress watch signals his taste long before the script reveals his real motive. The frame shows a gold Tank but does not resolve a specific model within the family. McClane's estranged wife wears a Rolex Datejust, which Watches of Espionage reads as "a gift from her coworker and a not-so-subtle signal that she has moved on" from a cop's wife's life; the post names no reference or metal, so the appearance sits at family level, and it does not say which scene shows the watch.
