Last of the Wolves (孤狼の血 LEVEL2) is a 2021 Japanese crime thriller, the sequel to the 2018 film The Blood of Wolves and the second installment of Kazuya Shiraishi's adaptation of the Korou no Chi novels. Set three years after the first film, it follows detective Shuichi Hioka (Tori Matsuzaka), who has taken over the mentorship role of his late superior Shogo Ogami and now works to hold together an uneasy underworld peace in Kure, Hiroshima, as Shigehiro Uebayashi (Ryohei Suzuki), a newly released and unpredictable yakuza enforcer, moves to seize it for himself. Shido Nakamura plays Takafumi Kosaka, a reporter for the Aki Shimbun who suspects Hioka is complicit in a killing tied to the earlier gang war and pursues the story against the police department's wishes.
