The Blood of Wolves (孤狼の血, Koro no Chi) is a 2018 Japanese crime film directed by Kazuya Shiraishi for Toei, adapting the first novel in Yuko Yuzuki's Koro no Chi series and released 12 May 2018. Set in 1988 Hiroshima, it follows Tori Matsuzaka's rookie detective Shuichi Hioka, newly assigned to the second investigative unit under Shogo Ogami (Koji Yakusho), a veteran officer rumored to trade favors with the local yakuza, as a routine missing-person case for a finance-company employee pulls Hioka into the department's compromised relationship with organized crime. Matsuzaka won best supporting actor at the Tokyo Sports Film Award for the role, which he reprised in the 2021 sequel Last of the Wolves. (Wikipedia)
