Rolex Submariner Date

Worn by Timothy Dalton as James Bond. Dalton wears a steel Submariner Date on an Oyster bracelet throughout, the last Rolex on Bond's wrist before the franchise moved to Omega with GoldenEye in 1995, and worn as before without any sponsorship arrangement. The film was shot in 1988, when the 16800, 168000 and 16610 sat side by side in dealer cases as outwardly identical divers; the frames cannot separate the two later references, though specialist research treats the 16610 as the likeliest, with at least one production watch reported as Dalton's own. Rolex Submariner 5513

A meters-first, no-date 5513 stood in for the hero watch on Timothy Dalton's stunt double during the closing tanker chase, a substitution documented in correspondence from Eon Productions' archivist. The watch came out of the sequence scarred, was repaired by Rolex free of charge, and surfaced at Fellows in 2018 with a £60,000–90,000 estimate before being withdrawn from sale.
