The CWC is not a wristwatch: it is a Swiss-made mechanical 60-minute timer, held in Hunt's hand rather than worn, and the film gives it a full-screen shot as he times a critical sequence. CWC has built stopwatches since the 1970s for military use and for British broadcasters including the BBC and ITV, which is why the production reached for one: it is the timer a professional would actually be holding. In a franchise whose entire grammar is the last possible second, a hand-wound analogue timer is better casting than any screen full of digits. (CWC)
