Someone in the Town (誰かがこの町で) is a 2024 Japanese mystery drama that aired as WOWOW's four-episode Renzoku Drama W series, adapted from Hiromi Sano's 2022 novel, itself the winner of the Edogawa Rampo Prize. Yosuke Eguchi stars as Yuichi Masaki, a former political secretary turned law-firm investigator, who takes on a case for Maki Mochizuki (Aju Makita), a young woman raised in an orphanage who asks him to find the family she was separated from as an infant; the search into her hometown uncovers a kidnapping and killing the community has spent years concealing behind its reputation for neighborly unity. Yuji Sato directed from Yoichi Maekawa's screenplay, and WOWOW broadcast the series from 8 to 29 December 2024. (WOWOW)
