The Casio G-Shock DW5600E-1V is the standard black execution of the square G-Shock, the reference most directly descended from the original 1983 DW-5000C that founded the line. Its module drives a 1/100-second stopwatch, a countdown timer, a multi-function alarm, and an hourly signal behind an electroluminescent backlight, while the resin case carries the 200 m water resistance and the shock structure (a hollow chassis cushioning the movement at each corner) that define the family. Reissued in 1996 and effectively unchanged since, it is the plain black square most people picture when they picture a G-Shock. (Creation Watches)
