Casio Pathfinder
More actions
Pathfinder was Casio's North American name for the outdoor sensor line sold elsewhere as Pro Trek, launched in 1995 with the DPX-500 and its Triple Sensor: compass bearing, barometric pressure and altitude, and temperature read from a battery-powered wristwatch, a first Casio achieved with high-density sensor mounting (Casio). The line absorbed Casio's toolkit as it matured: direct sensor buttons on 2000's PRG-40, Tough Solar charging on 2002's PRG-50, and radio-controlled timekeeping on 2005's PRW-1000, with mid-2000s models such as the PRG-90 and the solar-atomic PAW-1200 wearing the chunky, gasketed look of serious expedition gear (Professional Watches). Casio later retired the Pathfinder name in the United States in favor of Pro Trek.
