The TAG Heuer Carrera is a chronograph and three-hand line Jack Heuer launched in 1963, named for the Carrera Panamericana road race and designed around maximum dial legibility for drivers: a clean, high-contrast face inside a slim tension-ring case. It has run more or less continuously since, spanning the manual Heuer era, the automatic Calibre 11 of 1969, the quartz years and the modern TAG Heuer manufacture calibers, which is why "a Carrera" can mean anything from a 1960s two-register chronograph to a present-day Heuer 02. The example shown is a Carrera Heritage Calibre 6, whose deliberately vintage styling echoes the 1960s original; confirmed references such as the TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 5 and TAG Heuer Carrera WV211B.BA0787 have their own pages.
