Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean

Worn by Jeremy Clarkson as Himself. Clarkson wears the Planet Ocean throughout "Sand Job", the 2024 Mauritania special, where it is the one fixed point on a wrist otherwise buried in desert kit. It is the 600 m diver rather than the 300 m Seamaster, and it is the watch he has defaulted to across years of Top Gear and Grand Tour filming, though the desert footage never holds it still enough to fix which generation. Rolex Explorer II

Worn by Richard Hammond as Himself. Hammond crosses Mauritania in "Sand Job", the 2024 special, wearing an Explorer II on the white polar dial, which is at least the right genre of watch for driving across a desert without much idea what day it is. The reading is to the line: the polar dial and fixed 24-hour bezel are legible, the case size and generation are not, and the vintage 16570 it most resembles is offered as a likelihood rather than a reference. Casio G-Shock DW-5600

Worn by James May as Himself. May wears a semi-transparent teal G-Shock through "Sand Job", and the choice is entirely in character: the presenter who spends the format being teased for caution turns up to a desert crossing in the one watch on the three wrists that was actually built for it, and the cheapest by an order of magnitude. Nothing in the footage resolves a sub-reference within the DW-5600 line. (Monochrome)
