First Love (初恋, Hatsukoi) is a 2019 Japanese action-thriller directed by Takashi Miike from a screenplay by Masa Nakamura. Over one increasingly violent night in Tokyo's Kabukicho district, a terminally ill boxer, Masataka Kubota as Leo Katsuragi, and a drug-trafficking victim, Monica (Sakurako Konishi), are pursued through crossing yakuza, Chinese triad, and corrupt-police plots after a cocaine shipment goes missing. Shota Sometani plays scheming underworld fixer Kase, and Nao Omori plays the dirty detective Otomo. Seiyo Uchino and Jun Murakami appear as Gondo and Ichikawa, senior yakuza recently released from prison who suspect a rival Chinese gang of orchestrating the theft. Miike's film premiered at Cannes' Directors' Fortnight in May 2019 before its Japanese theatrical release on 28 February 2020. (Wikipedia)
