Seinfeld (1989 to 1998) is the sitcom about nothing. The continuing misadventures of neurotic New York City stand-up comedian Jerry Seinfeld and his equally neurotic New York City friends. (IMDb) Created by Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld, the NBC sitcom premiered on 5 July 1989 and ran nine seasons and 180 episodes to its 14 May 1998 finale, mining the minutiae of daily life rather than conventional plot. Seinfeld plays a fictionalised version of himself opposite Jason Alexander as George Costanza, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Elaine Benes and Michael Richards as Cosmo Kramer, with most of the action set in Jerry's Upper West Side apartment and the coffee shop downstairs.
