IWC Big Pilot's Watch

The IWC Big Pilot's Watch descends from the B-Uhr observation watches IWC supplied to navigators from 1940: a 55 mm instrument with an oversized conical crown workable in flight gloves, a soft-iron antimagnetic inner cage and a black dial with luminous Arabic numerals. IWC revived the format in 2002 at 46 mm, keeping the crown, the cage and the matte black dial and adding a date at 6; the photograph shows reference IW500201 of that first modern generation, whose Pellaton-wound automatic calibre 5011 runs for over a week. The line has since run through several generations and sizes, and the appearances here are identified to the Big Pilot alone. (Monochrome)
