Hiroshi Tachi is a Japanese actor and singer born March 31, 1950, in Naka-ku, Nagoya. He led the rock 'n' roll group Cools before joining Toei and making his film debut in The Classroom of Terror; through the 1980s he became one of Japan's defining action stars via the television series Seibu Keisatsu and Abunai Deka ("Dangerous Detective"). He won the Best Actor award at the 42nd Montreal World Film Festival for Owatta Hito (2018), and in License Return!? plays Hiroshi Nanjo, an aging movie star modeled on the Abunai Deka-style action hero he built his career playing.
