Prop master Laura Roeper told British GQ that the first watch seen in the season is on "the gentleman from Ever", the closed fine-dining restaurant, played by the show's writer and executive producer Rene Gube: "Rene's watch is a Rolex Submariner, and it's fitting for his character", a front-of-house veteran of a multi-million-dollar restaurant.
