Battlestate Games' hardcore first-person extraction shooter, set in the fictional Norvinsk region where scavenged valuables are currency. Released to buy-in closed beta in 2017 and out of beta with its 1.0 launch in 2025. Built in Unity for Windows, it opened in closed alpha on 4 August 2016, entered closed beta on 28 July 2017 and reached version 1.0 on 15 November 2025. Players take the field as operators of one of two private military companies, the Western-contracted USEC or the Russian-backed BEAR, in timed raids of twenty to fifty minutes on maps around the fictional Norvinsk Special Economic Zone city of Tarkov; anything carried in is lost on death unless insured or stowed in a secure container. Rolex Submariner: The "Roler Submariner gold wrist watch" is a high-value loot and barter valuable whose in-game description calls it "a gold watch of the famous Roler brand" with "18 karats yellow gold" case; it is displayed on a mannequin's wrist in the Customs Repair Building and turns up as scavengable loot across the maps. "Roler" is the game's in-fiction stand-in and the item is a clear parody of the Rolex Submariner: gold Oyster-style case and bracelet, dark dial with round markers, a date aperture, and a coin-edge rotating bezel, closer in metal to a yellow-gold Submariner Date than to the steel references cataloged here. The game does not license the Rolex name, so this is a clearly-derived look-alike, not an official placement. Unidentified watch: BEAR operators' first-person arms wear a black analog field watch that keeps genuine in-game time: checked with the view-hand gesture, it is the raid's only always-available clock. Player identification attempts read it as close to a Traser P66-type tritium field watch, a single hedged account that no second analysis has confirmed, so the asset stays unidentified. Unidentified watch: USEC operators wear a round digital altimeter watch in the Suunto Core mold (one hedged community comparison, unconfirmed) that, unlike the BEAR analog, does not actually run: its display is fixed at 8:29 with a 1829 m altitude, a long-standing player complaint.
