Mad Men (2007 to 2015) is AMC's 1960s advertising drama, and quietly one of television's best-curated watch shows. A drama about one of New York's most prestigious ad agencies at the beginning of the 1960s, focusing on one of the firm's most mysterious but extremely talented ad executives, Donald Draper. (IMDb)
Watches
- Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox
- Worn by Jon Hamm as Don Draper. Don's season-one alarm watch, fitted with a tuxedo-style dial. Montres de Luxe independently identifies Draper's season-one watch as a Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox. (Montres de Luxe)
- Rolex Cellini
- Worn by Jon Hamm as Don Draper. BAMF Style's recap coverage states that after the Memovox in the pilot, Don wore a prop Rolex Cellini in a similar black-and-white "tuxedo dial" colorway for the rest of the first season, though one earlier BAMF Style article hedges the identification as "likely" rather than certain. - Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Classique
- Worn by Jon Hamm as Don Draper. The gold Reverso arrives with Don's season-two rise. Montres de Luxe independently identifies the watch as a yellow-gold Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso across seasons two and three. (Montres de Luxe)
- Rolex Explorer 1016
- Worn by Jon Hamm as Don Draper. A steel Explorer with black dial marks Don's more rugged season-four stretch. Montres de Luxe independently identifies the watch as a Rolex Explorer 1 and notes the switch away from three seasons of Jaeger-LeCoultre pieces (the Memovox, then the Reverso). (Montres de Luxe)
- Omega Seamaster De Ville 166.020
- Worn by Jon Hamm as Don Draper. Christie's sold the screen-worn watch in 2015 with letters from watch provider Derek Dier and property master Ellen Freund, calling it the main watch worn by Draper in season five and dating the piece to around 1960. Its dial was repainted black with crosshairs before it went on screen, so the watch is not in factory configuration. A matching spare that never appeared went to the Smithsonian. (Christie's) Montres de Luxe independently identifies Draper's watch in season six as an Omega Seamaster with a black dial on a black leather strap, carrying it forward from season five after three seasons of Jaeger-LeCoultre and two of Rolex. (Montres de Luxe)
- Movado Bumper
- Worn by Jon Hamm as Don Draper. In the season-six opener "The Doorway," BAMF Style reports that with Don's usual Omega briefly out of commission, he swaps in a gold-capped Movado Bumper automatic watch to host New Year's Eve guests, an identification the site attributes to watch provider Derek Dier and property master Ellen Freund. (BAMF Style)
- Tudor Oyster Prince 7967
- Worn by John Slattery as Roger Sterling. BAMF Style identifies Roger's watch in the season-seven episode "The Monolith" as a Tudor Oyster Prince ref. 7967, a steel-cased watch with a round black-and-white "tuxedo" dial on a black leather strap. (BAMF Style)
- Hamilton Pacer
- Worn by Aaron Staton as Ken Cosgrove. Montres de Luxe identifies Ken's watch in the season-three stretch of the show as a Hamilton Pacer. (Montres de Luxe) An earlier Montres de Luxe preview of the season describes the same storyline, a Hamilton given to Ken as a client gift with on-screen dialogue naming "Hamilton Electric," but calls the watch a Ventura rather than a Pacer; both watches belong to Hamilton's 1957 Electric line, and the site's later, season-focused article above settles on the Pacer. - Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Tribute to Mad Men Q278857M
- Official product partnership, not an in-work appearance. Jaeger-LeCoultre, already Don Draper's on-screen brand via the Reverso Classique and Memovox, released this 25-piece Grande Reverso Ultra Thin 1931 tribute in February 2012, its case back engraved with the fictional Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce agency logo rather than anything drawn from the show's own props.
